The "Eras Tour" Meets the Metaverse: Taylor Swift Icon Series Concept
Translating the world’s biggest tour into the Fortnite Universe.
The Vision
This project explores the intersection of high-fashion stage wear and the iconic Fortnite "Icon Series" art style. My goal was to translate Taylor’s delicate, heart-shaped features and signature stage presence into a high-fidelity, game-ready hero asset that feels native to the Fortnite Item Shop.
Technical Deep Dive & Challenges
Stylized Likeness: Achieving a recognizable likeness while adhering to the stylized "Fortnite DNA" was a major milestone. I focused on the specific bone structure and iconic silhouettes to ensure the character remains instantly identifiable from every gameplay angle and perspective.
The "Lover" Bodysuit (Performance-Driven Detail): I manually placed each diamond and paillette sequin to match the real-world reference. To ensure engine efficiency, I developed a custom shader logic and baked these high-frequency details into optimized low-poly geometry. By using a combination of high-intensity emissive masks and metallic/roughness variations, I achieved a reactive "sparkle" that pops under dynamic lighting without a heavy performance cost.
Fortnite DNA & Silhouette: I meticulously replicated Fortnite’s signature character anatomy and proportions. The hair was optimized into chunky, beveled "ribbon" clumps to maintain a clean, readable silhouette, a core pillar of the Epic Games aesthetic.
Production Pipeline
Sculpting: ZBrush (High-poly anatomy and garment detail)
Retopology & UVs: Maya (Optimized for game-engine deformation)
Texturing: Substance Painter (PBR workflow)
Rendering: Arnold (Beauty shots & Technical breakdowns)
